2d9841f98d FROMGIT: usb: typec: tcpm: Allow slow charging loops to comply to pSnkStby
When a PD charger advertising Rp-3.0 is connected to a sink port, the
sink port current limit would 3A, during SNK_DISCOVERY, till power
negotiation starts. Once the negotiation starts the power limit needs
to drop down to pSnkStby(500mA @ 5V) and to negotiated current limit
once the explicit contract is in place. Not all charging loops can ramp
up to 3A and drop down to 500mA within tSnkStdby which is 15ms. The port
partner might hard reset if tSnkStdby is not met.

To solve this problem, this patch introduces slow-charger-loop which
when set makes the port request PD_P_SNK_STDBY_MW upon entering
SNK_DISCOVERY(instead of 3A or the 1.5A during SNK_DISCOVERY) and the
actual currrent limit after RX of PD_CTRL_PSRDY for PD link or during
SNK_READY for non-pd link.

3f315db5f8 FROMGIT: usb: typec: tcpm: Fix error while calculating PPS out values
"usb: typec: tcpm: Address incorrect values of tcpm psy for pps supply"
introduced a regression for req_out_volt and req_op_curr calculation.

req_out_volt should consider the newly calculated max voltage instead
of previously accepted max voltage by the port partner. Likewise,
req_op_curr should consider the newly calculated max current instead
of previously accepted max current by the port partner.

b248dd37db FROMGIT: usb: typec: tcpm: Honour pSnkStdby requirement during negotiation
>From PD Spec:
The Sink Shall transition to Sink Standby before a positive or
negative voltage transition of VBUS. During Sink Standby
the Sink Shall reduce its power draw to pSnkStdby. This allows
the Source to manage the voltage transition as well as
supply sufficient operating current to the Sink to maintain PD
operation during the transition. The Sink Shall
complete this transition to Sink Standby within tSnkStdby
after evaluating the Accept Message from the Source. The
transition when returning to Sink operation from Sink Standby
Shall be completed within tSnkNewPower. The
pSnkStdby requirement Shall only apply if the Sink power draw
is higher than this level.

The above requirement needs to be met to prevent hard resets
from port partner.

f694171a83 ANDROID: usb: typec: tcpm: vendor hook for timer adjustments
linux/usb/pd.h has a bunch of timers for which the Type-C spec defines
a range of values. These values have to be tuned based on the latency
observed in a specific architecture. However, linux opensource sets
them to a specific value without providing a mechanism to set board
specific values. While a generic way is figured out, a vendor hook
is needed in the interim.

For instance, tCCDebounce can have a value between 100msec - 200msec.

commit 3cac9104be upstream.

Remove the unused "u32 vdo[3]" part in the tps6598x_rx_identity_reg
struct. This helps avoid "failed to register partner" errors which
happen when tps6598x_read_partner_identity() fails because the

958c19b19b ANDROID: usb: typec: tcpm: Fix event storm caused by error in backport
As noted by Badhri, the patch
  https://lore.kernel.org/linux-usb/20210317181249.1062995-1-badhri@google.com/

Adds the power_supply_changed() to tcpm_psy_set_prop(), but the
patch submitted to Gerrit added it in tcpm_psy_get_prop()

This causes a uevent storm which results in lots of strange
behavior and error messages.

Thus, as suggested by Badhri, this patch removes the
power_supply_changed() call in the tcpm_psy_get_prop(), and adds
it to the tcpm_psy_get_prop() function to match the original
patch.

af4cedd719 FROMGIT: usb: typec: tcpm: Wait for vbus discharge to VSAFE0V before toggling
When vbus auto discharge is enabled, TCPM can sometimes be faster than
the TCPC i.e. TCPM can go ahead and move the port to unattached state
(involves disabling vbus auto discharge) before TCPC could effectively
discharge vbus to VSAFE0V. This leaves vbus with residual charge and
increases the decay time which prevents tsafe0v from being met.
This change makes TCPM waits for a maximum of tSafe0V(max) for vbus
to discharge to VSAFE0V before transitioning to unattached state
and re-enable toggling. If vbus discharges to vsafe0v sooner, then,
transition to unattached state
happens right away.

Also, while in SNK_READY, when auto discharge is enabled, drive
disconnect based on vbus turning off instead of Rp disappearing on
CC pins. Rp disappearing on CC pins is almost instanteous compared
to vbus decay.

6a31be7a06 UPSTREAM: usb: typec: Provide PD Specification Revision for cable and partner
The USB Power Delivery specification Section 6.2.1.1.5 outlines
revision backward compatibility requirements starting from Revision 3.0.

The Port, the Cable Plug, and the Port Partner may support either
revision 2 or revision 3 independently, and communication between ports,
partners, and cables of different revisions are allowed under rules
that the parties agree to communicate between each other using the
lowest common operating revision.

This may mean that Port-to-Partner operating revision comms may be
different than Port-to-CablePlug operating revision comms. For example,
it is possible for a R3.0 port to communicate with a R3.0 partner
using R3.0 messages, while the R3.0 port (in the same session) must
communicate with the R2.0 cable using R2.0 messages only.

Introduce individual revision number properties for cable
and port partner so that the port can track them independently.

54aa07b616 FROMGIT: usb: typec: tcpm: Respond Wait if VDM state machine is running
Port partner could send PR_SWAP/DR_SWAP/VCONN_SWAP/Request just after it
enters Ready states. This will cause conficts if the port is going to
send DISC_IDENT in the Ready states of TCPM. Set a flag indicating that
the state machine is processing VDM and respond Wait messages until the
VDM state machine stops.

759f5d09e9 FROMGIT: usb: typec: tcpm: Protocol Error handling
PD3.0 Spec 6.8.1 describes how to handle Protocol Error. There are
general rules defined in Table 6-61 which regulate incoming Message
handling. If the incoming Message is unexpected, unsupported, or
unrecognized, Protocol Error occurs. Follow the rules to handle these
situations. Also consider PD2.0 connection (PD2.0 Spec Table 6-36) for
backward compatibilities.

To know the types of AMS in all the recipient's states, identify those
AMS who are initiated by the port partner but not yet recorded in the
current code.

Besides, introduce a new state CHUNK_NOT_SUPP to delay the NOT_SUPPORTED
message after receiving a chunked message.

06edf99016 FROMGIT: usb: typec: tcpm: AMS and Collision Avoidance
This patch provides the implementation of Collision Avoidance introduced
in PD3.0. The start of each Atomic Message Sequence (AMS) initiated by
the port will be denied if the current AMS is not interruptible. The
Source port will set the CC to SinkTxNG if it is going to initiate an
AMS, and SinkTxOk otherwise. Meanwhile, any AMS initiated by a Sink port
will be denied in TCPM if the port partner (Source) sets SinkTxNG except
for HARD_RESET and SOFT_RESET.
